that's right folks. You can learn everything from how to set up your room, make a planner, and teach direct and indirect objects. It's unbelieveable.
You can learn how to homeschool your child while you sit on your keester and eat donuts.
No really, check out all the youtubes. I mean who needs DVD's?

Hey, it's kind of like Robinson Currculum on steroids?
LOL....
I like the part of sitting on your keester. I think you might just have a money maker right there. :0)))))

Not just youtube, have you seen Khan Academy online? It is just a bunch of free video lessons for everything you can think of!
|
I have seen Khan Academy. I just don't understand how it actually works????? Like, do they give tests and quizzes and if so who does the grading? What about writing?
And I always thought Khan academy was only for math?
I think I am confused.........lol

Jubliee are you beeing "tongue in cheek"? LOL
I think these videos are resources, but they would have to be part of a curriculum--not the totality of them. I've seen a school in New Orleans on TV that successfully incorporates khan academy into their teaching. The kids love it.
Yes, you could teach everything from online resources; but frankly, it would take a lot of time to pull it all together into a coherent curriculum that could support a scope & sequence. I'd rather just use it as an extra help resource.
Besides, what would I put into my house, if I did not have all these books????

But the belly dancing lessons are fab!!

Khan Academy has expanded way past math (which is how it started).
I even found that I could hold off buying a microscope. The youtube videos of various organisms are so much better than looking through our tiny lens and getting a poor view at it's very best in comparison. : )
