Here's a little bit more about the case I was referencing that day (at Vanderbilt....a Catholic group). The student group won't change its policy, that leadership within the group must adhere to a certain set of beliefs; thus, they cannot be an officially recognized group on campus and must, in addition, change their name when they re-locate off campus (since the name "Vanderbilt" happens to be part of their name).

Not trying to pick a nit, but Vanderbilt is not and has never been a Catholic University. They were originally affiliated with the Methodist Episcopal Church, and broke with them in 1914. It's a very secular environment, IMO (I spent a lot of time on the campus as a teen; my mom was on the music faculty part time and a close family friend was the dean of the music school for years). Just FYI.
