Thank you ,Ellie, for standing in the gap as a Titus 2 type mentor in the HS realm. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I don't think it could have been said any better! :)

I just had to resurrect this old thread! :)
I appreciate the ones who have been in the trenches for a very long time. Afterall, they homeschooled without all the new stuff and still made it!

I so called this. Only I thought it would be about 5 minutes. I was about 20 minutes off.
Really, June of 2010??????????????
This is REAL inspirational when someone is afraid to ask a question:
By: Mayberrymommy May 02, 2012 01:21:PMElliemaejune, you make me nervous to post anything because I can never seem to word it with exact enough words for you.

EMJ is not the HS Goddess. And I think it is terrible that MissMayberry had to address her on this.
So much for EMJ being "inspiring"
You can put the pom pom's down now.

resurrect? More like dig it up from the center of the earth.
Well as you can see from the type of answers that she is giving others not all of us get a respectful answer to our questions. I think that it is pretty poor taste to suggest I teach to the test. That offends me.
Wow, and people say I save things. Sheesh

yes, you're right. This should inspire me right? Pathetic.

Ellie>>>Sometimes you gotta study things you don't care much about. Don't we tell our children that all the time? :-)
Ellie>>>And how important is it that ABeka's scope and sequence is different from a standardized test? Are you teaching to the test?****
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH yes, really inspirational. I'm not easily impressed by people; I guess that people in this thread are.

I haven't been reading all the posts here so I realized after posting that my comments were off topic.
Have a nice day, everyone!

I am just eavesdropping here but I wanted to point out that it sounded like EMJ didn't TELL you to teach to the test, she was asking if that was your goal as you mentioned what type of questions were on the test. I understood that to mean..."hey Jubilee don't worry about the test questions but study what YOU want your child to study."
Sounded like she was trying to take some pressure off of you, not offend you, since we read a lot of articles that say our HS kids don't need to be tied to the standardized tests. Anyway, just an objective point of view. Just trying to bring some peace. :)
Anyway, just saying.
