Best writing program for struggling learner (bite-sized steps)

Best writing program for struggling learner (bite-sized steps)

Any recommendations? I have not attempted a writing program with dd13 as she has been a struggling learner. I would like to use a writing program with her in the Fall. Could anyone recommend a program that offers bite-sized lessons?

Essentials in Writing or EIW...not IEW...as some confuse it.

Check out their website.....its set up similar to MUS.

Essentials in Writing if you don't want to teach it.

Write Shop if you want to be the teacher.

Thanks for recommending EIW. I've spent some time this morning checking it out on the website and it looks like a great, affordable program. I think I'll order for both of my kids!

Check out Jump In by Apologia. My 8th grade dd who hated writing really likes the method. It breaks it down into reasonable chunks. Very good.

EIW is all over the forum and on the reviews page of this site. We use it for elementary and high school. It is step by step and done in small pieces, but adventually picks up the pace in the older grades. I think you'll like it.

I would use Character Quality Language Arts or just the writing portion which is Meaningful Composition, but take it SLOWLY. It breaks it all down, but might be too much work scheduled for a reluctant writer. So throw out the schedule and do one step then another.

CQLA is on sale this month. I don't know about Meaningful Comp.
