How is Essentials in Writing a "complete" Language Arts?

They're coming to our convention and will do a workshop. I thought EIW was only a writing program, but according to Cathy Duffy's review, it's a "complete" L.A.

It covers grammar as well as writing, especially in the earlier grades. We are using it for my 9th grader, but will be using Progeny Press for literature.

I bought 2,5 and 7th. There is a lot of grammar in them. To me it is all my kids will need. Whats the point of drilling tons and tons of grammar and never being taught when and how to use it properly. That is why I like this program. He teaches the grammar then "How" to use it in your writing.

From what I could see when I was looking at their 7th grade through high school information on the website, Essentials in Writing is NOT a COMPLETE Language Arts. It is grammar and writing, but it does not include penmanship, spelling, vocabulary, or reading/literature.
